Low carbon manufacturing! Samuel Sang, Vice President of EVE Energy, attended the 2nd China International Battery Industry Cooperation Summit and delivered a speech.

May 17,2023

On the 17th of May, the 2nd China International Battery Industry Cooperation Summit was held in Shenzhen. Samuel Sang, Vice President of EVE Energy, was invited to deliver a speech entitled "Green Low Carbon Manufacturing and Carbon Reduction Strategies for Lithium Batteries", sharing EVE Energy's concept and measures for low carbon manufacturing to the guests.

Since the national goals of "Carbon peaking & Carbon neutrality" was put forward, EVE Energy has incorporated "dual carbon" into the overall construction of the company, gradually implemented carbon reduction actions for the whole life cycle of lithium batteries, and achieved good results in low carbon manufacturing.

In his speech, Samuel Sang introduced that in order to achieve carbon reduction throughout the life cycle of lithium batteries, EVE Energy has focused on actions such as using green power, improving the utilization rate of recycled and recovered materials, and innovating sustainable technologies, and is expected to achieve a 69% reduction in carbon content per unit of product in the future.
Samuel Sang mentioned that low carbon product design is a microcosm of EVE Energy's implementation of its carbon reduction strategy. Taking the large LFP battery as an example, the manufacturing process is lighter in parts and highly integrated in the system, resulting in a much longer service life and significantly lower carbon emissions.
At the level of green supply chain, EVE Energy Jingmen production base firstly carries out the "Next door supply" of raw materials and recycled materials from used batteries, which can help reuse used materials and batteries. At present, EVE Energy is improving the utilization rate of valuable metals such as lithium and nickel through technological innovation, and at the same time, increasing its efforts to realize the "Next door supply" on industrial synergy. The scale of "next door supply" is expected to reach 30 billion yuan by 2025. In addition, to cope with the rapid expansion of production capacity, EVE Energy is also using recyclable and degradable green packaging materials to help decarbonize transportation.

Samuel Sang revealed that based on the application of smart manufacturing and digital technology, in the next three years, EVE Energy will build at least three zero carbon factories in each provincial base. Zero carbon factories have highly automated and digital manufacturing processes and energy management mechanisms. The former can significantly improve the amount superiority rate and quantity superiority rate of products, helping the company to save energy and reduce carbon in the TWh era; the latter can dynamically monitor energy load and reduce energy consumption and energy consumption per unit capacity when producing capacity fluctuates.

Samuel Sang said that EVE Energy has made large-scale investment in renewable energy use inside the factories, which can reduce more than 60,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year in the future; the factories are equipped with electrochemical energy storage and water storage and cooling devices, which can realize flexible load regulation, peak reduction and valley filling, and give priority to the residents of the neighboring communities to ensure electricity consumption and meet the key processes of the factory. The application of digital energy management technology in the factories can achieve a highly efficient COP for environmental equipment rooms.

In the future, EVE Energy will continue to take the "dual carbon" goals, actively explore in technological innovation, energy management and other aspects, and strive to contribute to the lithium industry energy saving and emission reduction and zero carbon production!
