On the 18th of August, the 12th New Energy Vehicle International Forum was held in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. Dr. Hongliang Huang, General Manager of Product Sales Department of EVE Power Domestic Marketing Center, was invited to deliver a speech on "EVE Large Cylindrical Cell-46 Series Strategic Product Introduction."
With the theme of "Powering Zero Emission", the forum focused on the progress and technology of vehicle factory electrification, power battery technology and other topics for further discussion.
Dr. Hongliang Huang introduced the high energy density and fast-charging technology in conjunction with infrastructure has redefined the direction of new energy development. New energy vehicles are entering the 2.0 era from the 1.0 era. The current new energy vehicle market has transformed from policy-driven to market demand-driven. The main problems for the customers are purchase cost, mileage anxiety and charging anxiety.
Dr. Hongliang Huang said that the development of the future power battery technology would concentrate on two directions: improving specific energy to solve the problem of light-weight and fast-charging technology to solve the problem of mileage anxiety.
EVE large cylindrical cell is equipped with the design, production, recycle standardization. EVE focused on the 46mm diameter to create cylindrical cells with different heights. The flexible use of space can be compatible with a variety of models. Compared with other forms of cells, the manufacturing process path of EVE large cylindrical cells is shortened by 30%. The cost has dropped significantly. EVE large cylindrical cell combined with self-researched full tab structure and high nickel system could achieve 350 Wh/kg energy density and 9 minutes charging from 20% to 80%. Based on the above advantages, Dr. Hongliang Huang believes that the large cylindrical cell will become the mainstream development direction of power batteries.
